Ми шукаємо того/ту, хто зможе управляти та реалізовувати проєкти, пов'язаних з енергоефективністю, енергетичною децентралізацією, сталою зеленою енергетикою, розвитком мережевої інфраструктури, а також адвокації кліматичної та енергетичної політики.
Попереду багато складних, проте амбітних задач — серед них:
- Сприяння й підтримка реалізації загальної стратегії WWF-Україна у сфері клімату та енергетики;
- Управління відповідними проєктами, включно з адмініструванням, моніторингом та оцінкою, а також звітністю;
- Розвиток і координація партнерств на підтримку проєктів, тісна взаємодія з іншими командами в мережі WWF для розробки інтегрованих проєктів;
- Підтримка розробки відповідних рекомендацій щодо політик і стратегій, екологічних (законодавчих) процедур або законопроєктів про внесення змін до законів України, пов'язаних з кліматом та енергетикою.
Наш ідеальний кандидат, зокрема, має:
- Вищий ступінь у відповідній галузі (сталий розвиток, енергетика, екологія, менеджмент або будь-які інші суміжні галузі);
- Щонайменше 7 років досвіду роботи в проєктах, пов'язаних з відновлюваною енергетикою, енергоефективністю, соціальними науками, лобіюванням та адвокацією;
- Досвід роботи з державними установами;
- Відмінні навички спілкування англійською та українською мовами (усні та письмові).

Climate and Energy Project Manager
WWF is the world's largest conservation organization, founded in 1961. We’re active in over 100 countries and have over 8000 employees. WWF Central and Eastern Europe is responsible for leading and to a significant extent implementing WWF’s efforts to preserve, restore and sustainably manage the natural values of the Danube Carpathian ecoregion, which we also call the Green Heart of Europe. With a team of over 220 highly specialised professionals, we are working across political borders through an ecoregional approach based on model projects, influencing policy, networking, capacity building, communication and crisis response.
As part of WWF-Central and Eastern Europe, WWF-Ukraine has built a solid record on conservation restoration and sustainable management of natural resources with main focus on forests, freshwater, wildlife, public policy and engagement.
We’re looking for a dedicated professional to join the team as Climate and Energy Project Manager. The job holder will contribute to WWF’s objectives in Ukraine and Central and Eastern Europe by managing and implementing projects or project components related to energy efficiency, energy decentralization, sustainable green energy and grid infrastructure development, and Climate and Energy policy advocacy.
Responsibilities:
Project management and implementation
- Manages project implementation in Ukraine and ensures communication with the project partners; provides input to partner meetings, working groups, webinars, conferences
- Coordinates project financial and technical reporting for WWF-Ukraine
- Develops and implements, in consultation with the project team, detailed work plans and a calendar for the project activities; coordinates input of WWF-Ukraine project team to project outputs and results
- Supports efforts to engage and mobilize citizens, city stakeholders and civil society to make the climate action planning process inclusive and transparent
- Scopes best intervention options for reducing forest pressure on forests because of inefficient energy use
- Supports and coordinates legal analysis for identification of best options for the establishment of a sub-granting mechanism for ensuring transparency and efficiency of grant distribution for energy efficiency and clean energy projects implementation
- Supports and controls development of monitoring framework for capturing the effect of reducing pressure on forests of high naturalness as a result of implementation energy efficiency, energy saving and renewable energy projects
- Works with different partners and consultants to ensure project development and identifies other possible partners/supporters, and closely with other teams in the WWF network to develop integrated projects/activities
Strategy and Work plan development
- Analyzes drivers and trends in the field of climate and energy and identify opportunities for further development of climate and energy work of WWF-Ukraine
- Supports the developing and implementation of the advocacy strategies and plans for better governance
- Contributes with his/her knowledge to regional strategies and initiatives
Advocacy, Partnership Development, and Networking duties
- Supports the development of adequate recommendations on policies and strategies, environment (legislative) procedures or draft laws amendments in Ukraine related to climate and energy
- Works in close collaboration with the Freshwater programme manager and gives support on policy and advocacy work on Freshwater issues, especially on hydropower cases
- Facilitates and supports the implementation and integration of WWF-Ukraine requests into future decarbonization, diversification and decentralization of energy supply as well participates with the help and input of relevant colleagues in the governmental working groups for energy sector in Ukraine
- Engages and collaborates with governmental, local authorities, CSOs, private sector institutions, European Institutions and international organizations in accordance with tasks established by line managers
- Participates in relevant working groups, meetings, workshops, conferences or events organized by WWF or other organizations
- Supports the Policy and Good Governance Manager and gives input in the development, implementation and reporting of specific policy objectives, according to the organization’s general strategic plan
Research and Analysis
- Monitors and analyzes European and national trends, policies and initiatives in the main climate relevant sectors, including energy and buildings sector, and integrates them in existing strategies
- Desk research and literature reviews on different policy topics agreed with the line manager
- Gatekeeper for Issue Monitoring alerts and reports (company monitoring, relevant policy sources/ public information/processes); disseminates the relevant information to line manager and relevant colleagues/departments
Fundraising and project development
- Contributes to the identification of fundraising opportunities and development of funding proposals for public sector funding programmes, foundations and companies.
The ideal candidate would have:
- University degree related to energy, energy efficiency, renewable energy, environmental science, social sciences, international or public affairs or any other related field
- Good knowledge and understanding of national and European environmental policies and legislation, especially on conservation, climate & energy policies, hydropower and sustainable development
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of political and economic context, decision-makers and stakeholders, and/or parliamentary procedures at national and European level
- At least 7 years of experience in public, private or non-profit organizations (national & international environment), related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, social science, policy analysis, lobby and advocacy
- Engaging with diverse stakeholders such as government officials or the scientific community would be considered an asset
- Ability to participate effectively in interdisciplinary teams, project support (reporting and implementation), efficient listening skills, ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and external partners, and reliability
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, detail oriented
- An appreciation of the multidisciplinary nature of environmental and sustainable development policy
- Ability to analyze and handle qualitative and quantitative data
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent command of written and spoken Ukrainian and English
- Ability to collaborate seamlessly within a matrix organisational structure, engaging with colleagues from both national and regional teams to contribute to cohesive workflows
- Ability to navigate and thrive in a matrix setting, leveraging cross-functional and cross-country collaboration to enhance overall team performance
