Accountant

WWF is the world's largest conservation organization, founded in 1961. We’re active in over 100 countries and have over 8000 employees. WWF Central and Eastern Europe is responsible for leading and to a significant extent implementing WWF’s efforts to preserve, restore and sustainably manage the natural values of the Danube-Carpathian ecoregion, which we also call the Green Heart of Europe. With a team of nearly 200 highly specialised professionals, we are working across political borders through an ecoregional approach based on model projects, influencing policy, networking, capacity building, communication and crisis response.

As part of WWF Central and Eastern Europe, WWF Ukraine has built a solid record on conservation restoration
and sustainable management of natural resources with a main focus on forests, freshwater, wildlife, public
policy and engagement.

WWF Ukraine is seeking to recruit a dynamic and committed professional to join the team as Accountant. The
job holder will assist the efficient and effective financial management in order to provide the operational basis for
the organisation’s achievement of the conservation results.

I.        The jobholder will be responsible for:

• Accounting of bank transactions (preparation of payment orders, work with the Client-Bank system, distribution of account statements in the accounting system), preparation and submission of documents necessary for currency control.
• Accounting for the acquisition of goods and material values, fixed assets, works and services, display of settlements with suppliers under contracts
• Reconciliation of payments with suppliers, identification of discrepancies and their reflection in accounting
• Accounting of settlements with accountable persons, processing of advance reports
• Provides support with the preparation of financial reports for project donors
• Report to Chief Accountant and Finance & Administration Manager
• Work very closely with WWF-Ukraine STaff
• Work closely with the regional Operations team and Regional HR Manager
• Interact with suppliers and service providers as necessary

The ideal candidate would have:

• Higher economic or financial education
• Solid knowledge of accounting
• Knowledge of office applications: MS Office
• 2−4 years of experience in accounting
• Practical experience in the 1C accounting system (required)
• Excellent organisation & analytical skills
• Well-organized and very accurate work style
• Attention to detail, good communication skills
• Ability to work in a team.
• A good level of written and spoken English is an advantage
• Sensitive to different cultures and diversity
